About Donna

All my life, I have found myself drawn to research, cultural analysis, the human psyche, and storytelling. As a young student, I loved the chase of tracking down information, deciding what was relevant to my essays, and weaving what I uncovered into compelling reports. Because I spent many years in the legal industry and earned my bachelor’s degree in the field, I learned to write directly, with precision and clarity every time.

I was also completely obsessed with popular culture, from the decades before my birth to the culture unfolding around me. I had a knack for fashion and attended trade school for a while, and I developed an interest in the arts, particularly acting and singing. These interests collided with my analytical nature and helped me develop my niche in the YouTube scriptwriting community. My channel, Surreal Echoes, is my personal project for developing host-led documentaries about Gen X popular culture and what it meant to the generation that experienced it.

For more than 18 years, I have worked in the copywriting field and owned my own business. As a professional writer, I began in content strategy for small and medium-sized companies. This included drafting long-form educational and marketing content and incorporating SEO. I have also developed campaigns across social media platforms, including YouTube, which eventually led me to focus my career on YouTube scriptwriting. As a former marketer, I thrive when given the opportunity to translate complex information for broad audiences.

Today, I bring those experiences together to create carefully researched YouTube scripts that educate, entertain, and give viewers a reason to keep watching. You can view my portfolio here.
